Paul Hollingworth’s Slinky Typeface

Paul Hollingworth’s is a graphic designer, photographer and illustrator rolled into one bundle. Currently working in the north of England.

Slinky

A simple, yet interesting type experiment using repetitive linear shapes to form letter forms. A tribute to the classic slinky.

What I found interesting here that the process author used to create the typeface is a geometrical mapping of moving a 2d shape in time and recording it. While the line of 4th dimension moves in the form of a letter forms itself. It reminded me of a diagram that explained geometrical progression of a cube  through 12 dimensions, which I have recorded earlier (https://antonlebedistdflatland.wordpress.com/2010/11/23/about-dimensions/ )
